I have trouble accessing the Internet with my Smartphone
Your iPhone (and, for that matter, any other SmartPhone - except the Blackberry!) will like it in Australia ! But just in case, here's a couple of tips that will help you in case you are encountering any issues when you arrive:
  1. Your Phone is locked

    This case typically happens if you purchased your phone together with a plan from a mobile service provider. Because the mobile service provider (Vodafone, ...) has subsidised the cost of the phone, they lock it to their network, so that you cannot use a different SIM Card in the phone. However in most cases it is possible to remove this SIM Lock. More details about SIM Locks can be found hier. If you have an iPhone and purchased it directly from Apple, either Online or in an Apple Store, then it will be unlocked and you won't have any issues.
  2. Your Phone still tries to use your home Internet Access Profile

    Many mobile service providers create an Access Profile (iPhone) / Access Point (APN, Android) to configure the phone to access the Internet. If you get one of our SIM Cards and have problems accessing the Internet but can make phone calls, most likely the reason is that your 'home' access profile is still there and interfers with the Australian SIM Card.

    If you experience this problem it is usual sufficient to simply remove the Access Profile from your home service provider (you can re-establish that after come back from Australia). We have a (german audio only) Video where we show you how this works on an iPhone:
